Welcome To Bann Maine West Community Cluster
At the heart of the Ballymena Community
Sharing, Learning and Working Together in the Bannside Area
The Hub Gift Shop
We have a fantastic and varied range of high quality gifts and handmade crafts in our Hub Gift Shop. All the profits from sales go back into the local community. We also run a range of small classes including Knitting/Crocheting and Card Making. The shop is based on the Main Street of Cullybackey, just beside Blessings Cafe, opposite Toast Coffee Shop and there is parking available to the rear of the building. Open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3.30pm.
This project is part funded by the Lottery Community Fund.
History Project
Author Damien Clarke signs local history book ‘Remembering’. This project began with speaking to people in the Bannside areas who had relative connected to World War 1. All the information, stories and memorabilia were gathered together, a fact finding mission took place over to the Battlefields in France and Belgium and a fantastic publication was pulled together. This was funded through Heritage Lottery. Copies of this are available either in at The Hub Gift Shop, Midtown Makers or The Braid Museum in Ballymena.

Lunch & Learn
We run a very successful Lunch & Learn Project funded by Lottery which involves taking older people from each of our six areas – Portglenone, Grange, Cloney, Hillstown, Cullybackey and Tullygarley – to the Wild Duck in Portglenone once a month to enjoy a speaker and some lunch. Transport is also provided. We have between 45 and 50 seniors meeting each month to learn from a speaker such as the Consumer Council, enjoy lunch and most importantly enjoy the company and chat with each other. We also do a range of workshops and classes on a regular basis.
Classes & Activities
Bann Maine West host a range of different classes and activities, ranging from flower arranging through to First Aid. Check out our latest classes on our Calendar.
